Ladybug Mecca is the figure I picked for my inspiration. In addition to being a singer from the Digable Planets, one of my favorite hip hop groups, she has a strong presence and values community connectivity. I can count on two hands the times in life when a person makes my jaw drop. When I saw her on stage I thought, "Gee whiz, that is one strong, sexy, fit, talented, and grounded ma."
